This piece is part of my ongoing Palette Painting Series, a body of work that began from a simple intention: not wasting paint.
Instead of throwing away my palette after a painting session, I began using a canvas as the palette itself. Layers of color, texture, and movement build naturally over time as I mix paint for other works. When the surface is complete, I step back and let the painting show me what it wants to become.
In this piece, the layered history of paint became the foundation for a flower that emerged from the surface. The black and white lines were added last, responding to the shapes and energy already present, almost like discovering an image hidden inside the color.
Each palette piece carries the story of many paintings within one. It reflects sustainability, intuition, and the belief that nothing needs to be wasted. What might have been discarded becomes something new, alive, and expressive.
