Receive was created as part of my signature mark-making practice, where writing becomes movement and movement becomes release. This piece came from an intuitive layering process using ombré bands of warm color, a soft yellow underpainting, and my handwritten script painted directly onto the canvas.

The repeated word receive is intentional. In this work, I was exploring what it feels like to open the body instead of bracing it — to let energy move through rather than pushing against it. The script is not meant to be read perfectly, but felt. It functions as a personal language, a way of writing intention into the surface and allowing emotion to transmute through paint.
