Grounding

Grounding was created in a moment of intensity — when there was a lot moving through my body and I needed a way to release it without containing it. I painted this piece intuitively, then pressed into the surface with the wooden end of my paintbrush, writing directly into the wet layers.

There are multiple layers of my signature script embedded into the painting — not decorative, but intentional. The marks function as a physical language, a way of transferring emotion from my body into the canvas. The writing is not meant to be read. It’s meant to be felt.

The color palette leans grounding and earthy, anchoring the piece, while the movement of the marks remains expressive and untamed. This contrast — wild expression held by steady color — mirrors the experience of feeling deeply while staying rooted.
