This piece came from a place of reflecting on what it feels like to move through stress. When life gets heavy, it can feel like layers of fog settle in around us. Sometimes we can see clearly. Sometimes everything feels blurred. This painting became my way of making sense of those shifting moments.

As I worked, I built the surface in layers. Soft whites and grays sit above deeper, darker marks, with lines of blue pushing through like distance trying to reveal itself. It began to feel like looking through an abstract lens. A visual interpretation of what we experience internally when we are overwhelmed, searching for clarity, and trying to find our way back to calm.

Each band across the canvas represents a different level of intensity. Some feel dense and heavy. Others feel open and breathable. The movement between them mirrors the way stress rises and falls, and how hope slowly returns when we give ourselves space to look beyond what is right in front of us.

This painting is about the possibility of seeing through the fog. It holds the reminder that even when things feel unclear, there is always distance ahead. There is always a way back to peace.
