This painting was originally created while I was being filmed for the documentary Drain That Pain by Joanna Cameron, a holistic filmmaker and author exploring alternative healing practices.

I was invited to be a subject in the film and interviewed about how I use art as a tool for emotional processing, healing, and self-expression. During filming, the crew captured me creating this piece in real time — moving intuitively, layering color, and allowing the painting to emerge through instinct rather than intention.

This work holds the energy of being witnessed. It reflects the act of creating while telling the truth about pain, release, and transformation. The looping red forms move across a striped ground like breath and circulation, echoing the idea of “draining” stored emotion through creative motion.

This painting is both a personal artifact and a documented moment in my artistic journey — a piece that exists at the intersection of art, healing, and lived experience.
